Diary of a flying pig: Danish Tour 11/2 & 3

Another 2 day review, as I'm a tired little piggy and will be in no mood to blog tonight!

Thursday, 11/2
With a free daytime in Haderslev, we all went our separate ways for some exploring time. Haderslev is home to a spectacular church from 1627, which now serves as the local cathedral. Joan and I were luck enough to happen upon it while an organist was rehearsing for a concert- truly amazing and a pretty dang spiritual... After being sufficiently awed, I continued a walking tour of Haderslev- a great little town with some beautiful buildings, nice people, good shopping. I again spent far too much money on souvenirs and Christmas presents, particularly losing control at the local wine, coffee, and tea shop, which was run by about the cutest Scandinavian girl I've ever encountered. It yet again proved an old boss's theory that "A oretty girl can sell anything." Several hundred kroner lighter, I walked out laden with teas & wine. Oliver fell prey to her soon after.

The show and audience that night were a great deal more exciting than the night before- a GREAT front row lead the charge with constant laughing and engagement, and I can yet again boast to having the most relatives in the audience- 10 of my Scandinavian cousins were there to see little old me! Afterwards, Joan, Matt, Oliver & Pia had a talkback with a local high school group, and the Andrew, Niels, & I, along with the Møllen crew struck the set, asl Ollie serenaded us at the piano lowered it down to the truck in below-freezing weather (ahhh, says the viking in me) until 2:30am in the morning only to realize that a certain member of our team (whose name that begins with N and ends with iels shall not be mentioned) left the lights on and we had a big fat dead battery in the truck. Thankfully a tow truck was quick to arrive, and as penance, he-who-shall-not-be-named drove the truck for half an hour to ensure it would start the next morning. We finally got to bed somewhere within the hours of 3-5am...

... To wake up at 7:30 am and drive back to Aalborg for a performance this evening. Andrew, Niels, and I got here around noon, the actors around 2, and we finished everything about half an hour ago, thanks largely to the help of Jen, Thomsen, Ellen, Lena, and Stine. Curtain is in an hour and a half- better get moving!

LESSONS FOR THE DAY
A winch significantly adds to your load in time.
Andrew thinks I am funny.

Waiting in the wings...

p.s. I'm heading out of town for a day or two, so my next post will be on Monday! Hope you can live without me until then!
